Alat Hub Debit Card is a Mobile App solution for Agents of Wema Bank

Providing banking services to underserved communities is a challenge, especially for individuals with limited access to digital infrastructure. Many people open bank accounts but struggle to transact because they rely on feature phones, which do not support mobile banking apps. As a result, they remain financially excluded despite having accounts.
To bridge this gap, Alat Hub introduced a debit card with every new account, enabling users to access their funds and perform transactions, such as withdrawals, without needing a smartphone or mobile app. This initiative empowers underserved communities with seamless banking solutions, ensuring greater financial inclusion. The cards are issued via agents of Alat hub on their mobile app solution.


Alat Hub is mostly situated in remote areas all over Nigeria where agents who are businesses engage in the business of account opening and other financial services were allowed to sell the cards on behalf of the Bank.

The adoption was quick and instant because it was a long needed solution, the first month got up to 5,000 cards and grew rapidly to 45,000 cards uptake in 6 months. The solution became one of the most performing products in the Bank. Customers could transact more and it reduced account dormancy rate in the bank.
